**Transitioning**

Thinking about the transition from relaxed to natural?!
Here are the few pieces of info that I have for you:) Although its only a few, these are staple tips that most transitioners follow. Very simple and its not rocket science peeps, so no worries! This should give you a great start!!
There are two different ways to transition. Either do it the quick way by doing the BC (Big Chop) or you go the longer route and grow out your relaxer, cutting off relaxed ends every few months. Whichever one you decide to do is totally up to you! But here are a few tips for the transitioner:
1. Treat your hair as if it is already completely natural. Why wait? Its important that you start practicing the haircare regimen that you will need later, right NOW! Moisturizing, protective styling, conditioning…..these are things that are important for your hair regardless of whether its natural or relaxed:-/ #truth

2. Mini chop! If you’re considering doing the BC (Big Chop), then do a mini chop BEFORE you do the BC! Take a small section in the back of your head, near the very edge of your hair line and chop it off!! That way you can see your natural hair curl pattern, practice using different products on it, etc. etc. The idea is to learn what your natural texture can do BEFORE you cut your whole head of relaxed hair off. Gotta be sure that the decision you make is the best decision for YOU. This is a good way to do it, without doin it. lol
3. Wear curly styles, braids, twists, sow-ins, while you transition. Start getting used to curly hair! Braids, twists, and curls are inevitable when you’re natural, but since relaxed hair does not naturally curl you’ll have to “create” your curls. Use curling rods, flat twists, straw sets, braids, etc to do this, until your tresses get back to normal. Sow-ins are also a style of choice for many transitioners. This protects their ends and they usually see much growth in between styling.

4. Be Careful with the point of demarcation on each strand! This is the place where naturally coily/curly hair meets relaxed hair. It is very sensitive and can easily be broken. If you are growing your relaxer out, you’ll want to pay special attention to this place on your hair. Moisturize the point of demarcation more, and be gentle when you handle it.
THE END! Good night peeps. Sweet dreams and happy transitioning;-)
