Detangling Your HAIR

image
Truth is, detangling is a JOB for my hair. LOL! Its sooooo thick and there’s just so much of it, but its the MOST important management technique for tightly coiled/ curly hair;-)
Why?
Because our hair strands curl around each other, curl around themselves and they create MAJOR knots which create MAJOR breakage. And thats no bueno, especially for those that are trying to grow their hair out.
Here are a few different techniques you can use to detangle your hair. I’ve done all of these things, and honestly, I do whatever one I feel like doing whenever I feel like doing it….lol just depends on the day and what I feel like at the time.
Use a CHEAP CONDITIONER- FIRST use your spray bottle to dampen your hair and then saturate it with a conditioner. Finger comb each knot and after your finished finger combing through your tresses, rinse out and start your normal wash routine.
Use OLIVE OIL- Olive oil creates slip for your hair knots to easily loosen out of and you can detangle and begin your wash routine without having to rinse out the oil;-) Therefore you can eliminate a step in the whole cleansing process. lol
Use WATER and OLIVE OIL-  You may not have kinky, tightly curled/coiled hair but you may have curls that still like to hug each other and create knots. lol Just oil alone might make your hair too greasy even after you wash it out:-/ (I know because my roommate experienced this before, it was badd) Mix with water to create a lighter detangler
NEVER DETANGLE DRY HAIR and ALWAYS DETANGLE YOUR HAIR!! Keep it stretched as MUCH AS POSSIBLE (In braids and twists, even during your washing routine) or you’ll have a huge tangled mess in your hands. This could lead to breakage, having to cut hair, or even ripping your hair out trying to get rid of knots. Thats not good. XOXO Hope you’re all having a beautiful MONDAY;-)
