LOL…The regimen I use now. Hence the title of this blog! LoL! FaBuLoUsNess
Its ridiculously simple. At least to me it is…..**Shrugs**
This regimen of mine has evolved tremendously since I first started properly caring for and managing my natural hair. It consists of weekly washes, weekly conditioning, and DAILY moisturizing. <—-This is the KEY! Oh and protective styling. <—-This has done wonders for my mane!!!
My most consistent hair products that I have in rotation include:
1. WATER (for moisture)
2. SHEA BUTTER (for sealing)
3. JAJOBA/ OLIVE/ CASTOR/ APRICOT OILS (for sealing)
4. VEGETABLE GLYCERIN (added with water in my spray bottle during the summer/ Spring time for moisture)
5. Giovanni’s Smooth As Silk (for deep conditioner)
5. and now, introducing; TERRESSENTIALS MUD WASH (Shampoo)<—-This is NEW!! I used to use Shea Moisture Retention Shampoo, which is a REALLY good poo.
And thats it! 8-) Thats my product list! Very simple, very natural. Now please understand, what I was doing/ using before was working wonderfully, but this works better for me mostly because it cuts down time:-) Its all about improving right?? Getting better over time is the goal for everything in my life….and also for my hair, minimizing the amount of product I use= MAJOR improvement. The less I have to use, the better!!
I wash every 7-10 days now because of the length, and I detangle still with a cheap conditioner, my fingers, and a denmans brush….{{very gently, before I wash}}. I moisturize and seal DAILY with my water spray bottle and butter/oil/ leave in conditioner. Whichever I prefer at that time, or whichever compliments the style I chose to wear for that day.
::Side bar:: I used to use pH balance to seal moisture in my hair strand. I would do this by creating the pH balanced leave in conditioner recipe that I learned from youtubber, KimmayTube. Check her out she’s awesome. Although I no longer use her concoction to seal my hair’s moisture I still highly recommend it:: I will make it in a video shortly.
Ok, back to our regularly scheduled program;-)
I still deep condition but I do this 1x every 3-4 months instead of weekly like I started off when I began the regimen. This changed because my hair’s level of moisture, its strength, and its length changed, and therefore I no longer need to deep condition so often. I will post a video of how I handle my natural hair in the upcoming weeks. Im sure that will help you understand more of how I care for my mane. You guys have an awesome week if I don’t talk to you again before the Friday! XOXO
